Coffee Grinding - The secret to perfect coffee

The coffee grind plays a crucial role in the preparation of the drink, as it affects the flavor, aroma and even the texture of the coffee. Here are some of the most common grinds and the best uses for each:

Coarse Grind : Similar to coarse salt, it is ideal for methods such as French press and filter coffee makers. Coarser grains require longer steeping time to extract flavors.

Medium Grind : Similar to granulated sugar, it is great for methods that use filters, such as drip coffee and some coffee machines. Provides a balance between quick extraction and rich flavor.

Fine Grind: Similar to icing sugar, it is suitable for espresso machines and methods that require quick extraction, as it increases the surface area of the bean for more efficient extraction.

Extrafine grinding: Almost like flour, it is used in specific methods such as Turkish coffee, where the powder is mixed directly with hot water.

The consistency of the grind is essential. Inconsistent grinds can lead to uneven extractions and, consequently, uneven flavored coffee. It's always a good idea to grind the beans immediately before cooking to maintain freshness and get the best flavor possible.

In the world of specialty coffee, each type of method can be tailored to a lifestyle. In terms of options, the choices are varied and include the espresso preparation method, V60, Clever, Chemex, Aeropress, French Press, among others. Therefore, the way it is prepared will give you a unique experience in the cup.

But before thinking about how to make coffee, you need to know that there is a specific coffee grind for each type.

For you to understand better, the coffee grind is the key to determining the speed at which the water will pass through the ground coffee. Therefore, finer coffee grinds result in slower contact with water. While coarser grinds allow for faster extraction.

Each coffee variety has a specific characteristic and the coffee grind can be adapted to the preparation you choose.

Take advantage now of the opportunity to try the world's true specialty coffees and experience special sensations with your favorite coffee method.
